California Prop 16 (2020)

What is California Prop 16 (2020)?

Proposition 209 prohibits the state from discriminating against, or granting preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting.
Proposition 16 (2020) would repeal that ban, thereby allowing the state to legally discriminate again. California Prop 16 will appear on the November 3, 2020 general election ballot.

Why is California Proposition 16 bad?

If passed, California Prop 16 would allow the state to explicitly engage in racism and sexism. This means you could be denied admission to UC Berkeley or other colleges because you’re Chinese, or because you’re White.

Who proposed California Prop 16?

California Prop 16 was advanced by California state democrats. As we have seen from Washington State I-1000 and similar cases elsewhere, Democrats have been advancing a pro-racism agenda against Whites and Asians.

What can you do to fight racism?

If you’re in California, vote NO to California Proposition 16.
In general, advocate and vote for Republicans because they have a demonstrated history against racism.
